People, get these instead of Beats by Dr. Dre. One of the best in the industry and if you research, it's almost an industry standard and among a favorite even til this day among studios.

@skater1on1 I call it what it is.

VERY good review. I don't buy any type of major purchase without doing my research. I knew i wanted a better music experience than sub standard earbuds and so called "noise canceling" no name cheap-o's. In my search i've come across some rather expensive cans-Dr Dre being & Bose being the most expensive but not consistant in customer reviews. Ask ANY musician & they will tell you these are the way to go. Been around for many years for a reason! GREAT retro vibe that simply sound SENSATIONAL.

Hi, I just want to know how these headphones sound with portable mp3 players. I have e-series sony mp3 walkman. Do they sound strong on them? How is the bass and treble while using on ipod and walkman, especially with EQ settings set to nil. Actually, I have Sony MDR-ZX100 headphones and they sound very muffled without EQ's. With EQ's there is great jump in audio quality. Do MDR-V6 sound great on individual stereo systems with amplifiers or are they equally great on mp3 players(without Amps)Thnx

@jamilka1225 If you are mastering recordings... or if you want to hear a true representation of the original mix... use the V6/7506. The XB700 are nice phones, but are deliberately designed to have a heavy bass response.

@NasseerBoss they cost about 150 bucks and the reason I didnt get them is there are too many fakes from China out there. BTW all sony studio headphones are made in thailand so if yours says made in china, they're fakies
-
have you tried the mdr-7509hd? it's the newer version with frequency response up to 80Khz!

@NasseerBoss mdr-v6 is the best pair of heaphones on the market.

@fatmangiggles1760 They are extremely durable, probably the most durable headphones out there. I know some people who've had them more than 10 years and they still work perfectly. Bass is not overwhelming because these are studio monitoring headphones meaning they wont have more base than trebs. This makes for the most clear and authentic sound quality, but just use your ipod or computer to boost up bass on their settings.

@MinimeDrummerBoi the sony mdr-v6 have been on the market for more than 2 DECADES! They're pretty much the standard studio monitoring headphones and they only cost 64$ on amazon!
im choosing between these and MDR-XB700... what would you recommend???
