This is the largest permanent light show in the world. A Symphony of Lights turns high rises in Hong Kong Central Island into a night time spectacle. The show runs every day at 8pm local time. The best vantage point for this show is at the Star Ferries pier.
I've been to Hong Kong once, in 1980. It was still a British colony back then. I liked it a lot, the food there was outstanding.
Has the city changed much since the Chinese took over?

Well, I can't say for sure since the last time I was in Hong Kong I was like 6 years old or younger so I don't remember. So my only experience in Hong Kong was this last November when I went. But I can tell you this, China considers Hong Kong a special administrative district. So while it's officially part of China, they haven't really done anything to "reincorporate" it into China, they've more or less left it alone. They still have their own separate economy with their own money and everything

Every day, and on holidays they make it even more spectacular with fireworks along with the lights. It's quite the sight. I missed filming the very beginning because I was trying to get some photos, but it was just the introducing all of the buildings involved. Luckily I caught it on a day when the narration was in English, some days it's just Cantonese or Mandarin.
