New and light weight materials are helping to lower weight of vehicles and aircrafts to save money and decrease polution. Scientists at the GKSS Research Centre in Geesthacht discover magnesium alloys from creation to recycling.

  • A normal car usually contains about 15kg to 20kg magnesium.

  • How much of the materials used in new engines in normal passengers cars today are consisting of magnesium alloys? 10 %?
