Balkan Beat Box - Logan Square Auditorium, Chicago

Collaborating with musicians from Bulgaria, Israel, Turkey and elsewhere in southeastern Europe, this reggae/Mediterranean six-piece has a big-band-meets-world-music vibe that's utterly infectious.

Brooklyn-based band Balkan Beat Box doesn't include any beatboxers, but they do incorporate hip-hop, electronic and dub reggae with Spanish, Morroccan, Arab, Jewish, Gypsy and other Mediterranean sounds. Using guitars, drums, lots of horns and upbeat rhythms, it's a musical melting pot, like world music for hipsters.
