Is it time to lift the Cuban embargo?

Perhaps as a token of goodwill, we could lift the embargo to Cuba.

It's probably a bad a bad idea, it's just a thought. Lifting the embargo might encourage illegal immigration from Cuba, however the trade might improve conditions in Cuba thereby discouraging illegal immigration.

If we were to lift the embargo I would think it should be experimental and conditional. If there was any substantial increase in illegal immigration from Cuba, then I think the embargo should return. If Cuba was to start threatening or subversive behavior, then I think the embargo should return.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to control illegal immigration from Mexico before lifting the embargo on Cuba.

I would hope lifting the embargo would heal the wounds between the US and Cuba.

I would think another condition of the lifting the embargo is that human rights would have to improve in Cuba.
