This is cool. =P

Starting this month, Consumer Reports is introducing an entertaining new online video series that will track and report on such ads. The videos are hosted by Associate Editor, Jamie Hirsh, and produced by the ConsumerReports TV News crew. This first installment concerns an interesting class of medications that are approved to treat something called "restless leg syndrome." That condition may sound fanciful, but it's a real problem. Something like 3 percent of Americans suffer from RLS, which is characterized by an uncontrollable impulse to keep moving your legs even when you are trying to go to sleep—which obviously could make sleep difficult.

  • I have sympathy for those who really suffer from this. I take medication for very real diseases too. She isn't making fun of the condition or saying it's made up. she's making fun of the pharmaceutical companies.

  • Anything to sell a drug. That why I buy mine from Pedro.

  • I took this shit and i havnt slept its 5:00 in the morning wtf

  • I take Mirapex and it seems to help a little bit but i have to take triple the prescribed amount. RLS sucks, it feels like someone is tickling you and there is nothing you can do, your legs just want to get away from the sensation or run. On a lighter note? that guy at the end of this video sounds like STIMPY :-)

  • So far I haven't gotten much relief with Requip and I take 0:25 mg five times a day--I have severe RLS and symptoms during the day. I would rather have pain than RLS

  • @sammie416 are you feeling better now Sammie? Please see a sleep specialist. Also, until you hit on the right medication, sleeping with an electronic back messager under your legs provides "movement" so you don't have to walk around.

It really does help until until you get the right medication. Best of luck to you:)

  • @sammie416 me too. It took me 7 years before I was diagnosed and by dumb luck placed on Tegretol for seizures, which was a miracle for my RLS

  • @AikenGhoti

I totally agree. I had never seen a Requip ad 14 yrs ago when I found out what RLS is.

NO ONE had to convince me that my legs were full of electricity and jumping around.

  • @bigdaddyevil666

NO ONE is trying to convince people that they are sick. However RLS causes severe sleep deprivation, and you can never get that sleep back. PPL with sleep disorders are at risk for diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems. Those are certainly REAL.

  • @ralph0226

Sorry for typos in previous post. I am severely sleep deprived right now, after not sleeping for 4 nights in a row, because I cannot lay down.

  • @ralph0226

The RLS Foundation paut pout a public statement aginst this video, and we had a letter writing campaign to Consumer Reports. Raise AWARENESS.

  • @KkF00

YOU ARE describing RLS perfectly, so you probably DO have it. IMHO
