@ccdemuthjr even if that is the case, that still keeps it well under the trillion dollars Obama said he wanted to keep the plan under. I am single payer supporter so I am not that excited about the legislation either. It still has some gaping holes that will need to be plugged. But we certainly cannot afford to do nothing.

Himes’ healthcare takeover already has massive cost overruns compared to its advertized costs. Himes voted for a bill that was supposed to cost only $788 billion. Since March, the estimate has been increased by $115-125 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
