  • thanks for posting - this is one of my favorites by the spaniels

  • Our old group used to do this song back up in Detroit, echoing out of alleys, city corners, parking lots or wherever we could get that great, free acoustical sound. I miss those days. Nothing was better than being a part of the harmonies, even for free, singing just to hear the blend you made with your buds.

  • @doowop47 I know Pennsauken well- The Pub!

  • This sounds like a Church song at first ! I loved this song. I sung this song to a girl I was trying to go with back in Da Day. She never spoke to me again ( I sang it so bad)..LoL

  • @billchew450 across the bridge....from Pennsauken, NJ

  • @doowop47 Are you from Philly?

  • @Polly1942 I was only 3 yrs old when this song came out but it is stuck in my mind forever. A true classic of the times and this is one of my top tens of all time. Yes a great bedtime sing too..

  • Pookie is just so cool and smooth, thanks for posting

  • This is one of the best doo wop songs ever. Pookie really did it justice. Where is this music today---only a memory.

  • This song is like meditation. Just close your your eyes and takie a deap breath.

  • Great, guys! I'm glad so many truly enjoy this music. Stulicius, we can go back only in either memory or imagination, I suppose, unless we can get the young dudes to bring it back again. And, StreetCornerHarmony, thanks for your comments. I write whenever I can about this stuff, because I have always looked at our music the way you might look at babies being born. You never throw out the first one when the second one arrives. Keep that old stuff alive!!

  • @Walt1124 What a wonderful, all inclusive statement. You certainly had the right attitude and still do apparently. I sang this song many times with my old group and felt exactly the same way. Walt, I couldn't have put it any better than you did...
