Over the 24th to 26th September 2010 the Severn Valley Railway ran their annual Autumn Steam Gala which sees the railway run a non stop service from Friday morning till Sunday evening. Again this year was based on the Railways 40th Anniversary of the line re-opening, which again featured guest that used to be residents along the line, However the most special being Collett Goods number 3205 who hauled the first SVR train from Bridgnorth to Hampton Loade.

The engines that ran over the Saturday 25th were --
|GWR 2251 'Collett Goods' Class 3205 (Visiting from the South Devon Railway
|GWR 3700 'City' Class 3717 'City of Truro' (from the National Railway Museum)
|GWR 4575 'Small Prairie' Class 5542 (From the Gloucester & Warwickshire Railway)
|SR 'Battle of Britain' Class 34070 'Manston' (Visiting from the Swanage Railway)
|LMS 'Jubilee' 5XP Class 5690 'Leander' (Former Resident, Visiting)
|GWR 45xx Class 4566
|GWR 5101 Class 5164
|GWR 57xx Class 5764
|GWR 7800 'Manor' Class 7802 'Bradley Manor'
|GWR 7800 'Manor' Class 7812 'Erlestoke Manor'

The day was a success, the weather was on fine form and all engines seemed to perform well, truly one of the best Severn Valley galas I've been to. In this video it is mainly focused on Lineside and station shots. Highlights for the day were 3717 running with the railways Great Western stock, and the visit of Manston from the Swanage Railway. However in my opinion seeing the 2 manors double head between Bewdley and Kidderminster was my highlight of the day, to see two of my favorite classes double head is something I've always wanted to see for myself.

Shots in the video are --
- 5164 stands at the water tower at Kidderminster
- 3717 runs round the GWR stock at Kidderminster
- 5542 backs onto the Goods train at Bewdley
- 5542 departs Bewdley with the goods train
- 4566 crosses over Victoria Bridge on route to Arley
- 3717 arrives into Arley
- 34070 arrives into Arley
- 5542 flies pass Foley Park with the goods train
- 34070 coast down the line at Foley Park on route to Bewdley
- 7812 & 7802 pass Foley Park with a Kidderminster train
- 5690 arrives into Bewdley station
- 5764 departs Bewdley with a local
- 34070 departs Highley with a Kidderminster service
- 3205 runs round the local train at Highley
- 3717 arrives into Highley
- 3717 departs Highley

Well done to the Severn Valley Railway for another fantastic gala, bring on next year!

Enjoy!
