@VoteLib3rty HOW and WHY? Simple! Iran's Regime is a Shiite one and they want to be able to gain further and further influence over the predominantly Sunni Arab nations: and they want to be able to create a Shiite Caliphate in the region! IF they have nuclear missiles they can use a MAD policy (Mutual Assured Destruction) against anyone who would try to stop them from beginning to follow-through with their threat of sinking Oil Tankers to choke the flow of oil.

@VoteLib3rty (continuation) THE REAL THREAT is that Iran's Regime would use any nuclear arsenal as a means to fully back-up any effort to CHOKE OFF the flow of oil through the Straight of Hormuz at the point where The Persian Gulf meets The Gulf of Oman and The Indian Ocean. Iran's Regime would then be able to strategically sink a number of Oil Tankers and CHOKE THE FLOW of Saudi Oil (as well as Kuwaiti and Iraqi Oil). They want to be able to use that threat to whitemail the West!

@VoteLib3rty Regarding the Iranian Regime (not to be confused with the peoples of/in Iran): the REAL THREAT is not that Iran's Regime will fire nuclear missiles at Israel. That would cause the murder of millions of Palestinians and Israelis and others too! Plus the fallout would eventually murder many millions more: especially in terms of how it would contaminate the very limited fresh-water sources in Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestinian Territories, Jordan and Upper Egypt!
