  • "What's wrong with arrogance if you're right?"

    Call the spade a spade!

    Theism is bullsh*t!

  • The expression "blind science" is self-contradictory, and debauches the very concept of scientific inquiry. The dismissal of science as just another form of religion is an old and appallingly cheap piece of rhetorical sophistry that is very easy to see through. Education serves both to open and to close the mind, as appropriate. When the relevant observations overwhelmingly support one among several possible explanations, the educated take this seriously and proportion their belief accordingly.

  • @StygianDysnomia

    a *HUGE*!!!! burdon

  • So he's certain that God doesn't exist? That's a pretty high burden of proof to hold..

  • @cartmanspp2 It would if it had no arguments for God's existance. Sadly for you, atheism is the position wich has NO evidence against the existance of God. FAIL

  • @Drgamedood All views concerning pathways to knowledge are limited by the subjective nature of the view.

It's all a hollow shell dependent on dogmatic indoctrinated beliefs about meaning. The subjective world you actually exist in my friend. the illusion of meaning.

  • @zzzak123 Faith is a hollow shell. A very narrow minded view of how to arrive at knowledge. The idea that we should believe something in spite of evidence is rather laughable and the Mcdonald's philosophy of theists who try and philosophize without adequate training is almost dizzying in its lack of intellectual rigor. Most people who think they are theists are really just lazy thinkers anyway. "The absence of belief" means that you positively disbelieve.

    There. Fixed that for you.

  • I like Peter Atkins more after watching this video lol.

  • Ultimately the only scientifically supportable position is agnosticism. However, the odds are close to zero that any human religion is remotely correct that it's not even really worth worrying about. It was probably ultimately driven by the same force that drives science, i.e. to explain the world, but before any scientific method was available. It can have some ethical value of course, but it can also be horribly misused, because it is not fact based.

  • Poor people... It's gonna be interesting when he will meet the One :)

Government is paying him for his position and that why he must be atheist. I feel sorry about this. I thought in Oxford professors are smarter. Of course there are some :)
