Great videos and very informative for someone facing surgery. My son had had a colectomy due to UC two years ago, at the age of 14 and is awaiting pouch surgery.

@boogerpresely If you're just diagnosed, maybe don't watch all of our videos about surgery. Not all cases, not even a majority, lead to surgery. However, learning about the disease will help you in the long run.

Many people want to help others going through surgery, but unfortunately a lot of the battle will be on your friend to figure out how to live post-surgery. But, as bowel diseases are never pretty and often frustrating, providing emotional support is very important. Of course, directly after surgery you can help with buying groceries, helping her around the house, any labor that she can't do for herself as she has a lot of recovery ahead.
