Wikipedia: Brass Construction was an American funk group formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1968, originally known as Dynamic Soul. Hi Tension was a North London based boy band, seen as pioneers of Brit funk and started as Hott Waxx in the early 1970s. First time I heard them.
