  • I'd say "Hitchens for President" but I know he's too damn smart to accept the job.

  • Did anyone else just want the other panelists to let Mr. Hitchens talk?

  • Allah hu Akbar!

  • @greggb777 it's quite rare that people "on the other side", the irrational, super-natural "deities" believers actually HEAR the truth being spoken out. It's kinda like not telling your 22 year old son, that Santa Claus doesn't exist and that hearing him say "ok, I'll get you that for Christmas" was an illusion. It seems crazy to us, but it doesn't sound crazy to believers. They know their beliefs are crazy, it's just that no one ever tells them that. Hitchens always did.

  • @logician360 the "moderate" religious think they are doing the dead unbeliever a service by renouncing their unbelief on their behalf. the fundamentalists just love to gloat about the dead unbeliever, and the torments they would be facing in hell if all their sick fantasies about the afterlife were true.

  • Remember that while Hitchens is very brilliant as a debater he also has rationality on his side against an ideology (theism) that is inherently irrational. He never looses a debate on religion because the debate was won before he entered the building. I think it's important to remember that. Even though many of us are drawn to Hitch as a personality and as an intellectual, he only has to state the truth to win these debates. The fact that he does so with such elegance and flair is irrelevant.

  • Fuck the world when the good dies young and cows live forever.

  • I hope Hitchens' legacy echoes that of Shakespeare's, insomuch that the true value of his life and contributions is increasingly realized throughout the current and future generations of our species. There are still many people now who will not listen to or - a further stretch - consider his proposals regarding deities and religions. Thank goodness we have his written, video, and word-of-mouth legacy remaining to continue to study for, hopefully, a great many years to come. IntellectExperience

  • Quite right!

  • He will be sorely missed.

  • @logician360 "I'm sure someone will say it about Dawkins and Hitchens" This has now actually come to pass with regards to Hitch now. Although I must say it was a pretty safe prophesy to make.

  • @o8QWERTYo8 Really? You just said she insulted every abused Sharia suffering woman, but then you turn around and call her a bitch?
