@Morty4444 i should have mentioned this sooner, but i can honestly say that circumcision ruined my sex life- if not, my entire life.
i need no explaining to do. i doubt you will listen to what i say. heh, after all, it's hard to reason with people who are ok with cutting up the penises of healthy babies.
i'm starting to feel that trying to get you to understand the destructive power of Genital Mutilation is a useless endeavor.
-
@Morty4444 i still don't understand why you are so against the foreskin.
What's influencing you so much so as to make you feel OK with people cutting up already healthy babies for "health benefits"? these health benefits don't outweigh ethics. besides, the AAP already stated that they do not recommend routine circumcision.
Why still go ahead with this brutal mutilation? the only reason this sick practice is still alive is because of religion and culture (though mostly religion).

@Morty4444 I searched that on google and went to the first link. the thing i saw was last updated 10 years ago. and it's made by some guy who i don't even know.
Whereas the link i gave you is supported by the AAP. it is 12 years old, but i would rather trust a huge group of doctors than some guy i barely even know.
i can't find one that's more recent. But i have heard that the AAP restated its position on 2005. you should try searching for it yourself.

@OyonTheAdept When you get back, you might wanna google "Myths, Lies, and Half-Truths about Male Circumcision". It does not get rid of necessary nerve endings, it does not provide better sexual encounters, etc. Check it out.

@Morty4444 ugh. you're very hard to please. i'll get back to you in 4 hours.

@Morty4444 i had a feeling you would say that. essential... yes it is. both sexually and to general health. the foreskin protects the glans from the outside environment. but through circumcision, since there is no foreskin protecting the glans, the glans becomes dry and wrinkly through the process of keratinization. i.e., it builds layers upon layers of tissue to make up for the loss. but in doing so, many nerve receptors become blocked.
-
@OyonTheAdept If that's the case then find me a better article that focuses on the ethical side of this debate. All I've seen is some research saying that it may lower the risks of HIV and other diseases/disorder, as well as increasing hygiene, and then a bunch of people saying "It's not right. It's mutilation". Fact is, I think the studies and facts provide better support than the "opinion" that people on the other side have provided me.
-
@Morty4444 heh, you have no idea what you're missing out on probably because you were mutilated as a baby. that's ok. it's not my life. it's yours. think however you want to to avoid such issues. i won't mind.
jeez, dude. i realize this article is old. why don't you search for yourself, then? give me an article published by the AAP that says that they think routine neonatal circumcision would be a good idea. i dare you.
also, the AAP aren't specialists on ethics. they focus on health.

@OyonTheAdept Fair enough, But still, even the second part. It is not an essential part of the limb. And is there research conducted that shows that it provides increased sensitivity? Fact is, there's not really any way to show that a child would have been more sensitive had he not been circumcised. And I'm pretty sure a lower risk of HIV would out weight slightly less sensitivity. Hell... that just means it helps you last longer :P
