  • great swing. lower body very quite on downsing

  • @EternalAnachronism When you say its like a batter with the front foot coming up that tells me the weight is on the back foot and therefore powering the transition. The front knee might collapse as you say, but this is effectual, not causal.

  • @EternalAnachronism I disagree.. what initiates the transition is the back leg stopping the coil of the upper body and moving toward the ball. What happens in a proper transition? The lower body and upper body separate with the lower body rotating toward the target while the upper still turns back. This happens in baseball and golf. That separation isn't coming from a collapse in the left knee, its the back leg starting to move the rotational power back toward the target.

  • @AlexC01293, few people know what truly initiates the transition. They think it's a sliding of the hips, but there is actually something that triggers that. And this is, believe it or not, a slight collapsing of the left knee (for right-handers). If you watch great baseball hitters or great ball-strikers in golf with a discerning eye, you'll see this move. It's especially pronounced in Fred Couples' case. When done right, it almost feels like you're stepping into the ball.

Yes sliding your hips forward while keeping your upper body over the ball is very important for solid contact and consistent high ball flight.

  • @AlexC01293 sandt golf swing is started with more weight transferring to the left leg. This starts moving the hips forward with the arms and the club coming behind. If you rotate first to start the downswing (like so many of us do) you will have a tendency to come across the ball and end up on your back foot and hitting weak fades when luck but mostly slices. You do need both rotation and weight shift but most golfers (including me) rotate more then shift forward.

the golf swing is really all in the lower body

the transition starts with the hips unwinding towards your target

and the upper body is being forced to be pulled by the lower body

  • what starts his downswing?

I have problems with my transition for a while and couldn't really figure it out. Any tips?

  • where do you get pant like that from? btw nice swing

  • Love the music-golf swing idea! Fantastic swing aswell
