  • @DragonZord90 ya but now, no one respectrs thast. they take it as a joke all bacause of those stupid karte movies where they say that all we do is hi ya!

  • thats my instructor

  • man, I could watch and learn stuff like this all day. I just started Tang Soo Do, but did Ishinryu over 20 years ago for several years. This is much more "fun"!

  • There were so many prerequisites in which he failed to point out. Secondly, your heart rate is probably through the roof. This is why I wouldn't have grabbed him in the same angle as the blade slash.

  • Personally, if I am able to knock the knife out of the attacker's hand, I am not going to throw him down and give him a chance to regain control of the knife. I would prefer to place him in a restraining hold away from where the knife fell. In the last technique, make sure when you pull up on his wrist, you are supporting the back of the elbow in order to add compression. This makes the technique effective and can make the attacker drop the knife. Constant training is imperative.

  • I have been working in real life action careers for many years. There are too many variables in a real life situation like this. I met Mr. Cheatham several years ago at a seminar and his skills are very good. These techniques can work in real life situations, but they take much practice and dedication in order for them to become instinctive. Arguments can be made for both sides, but the bottom line is that it depends upon the attacker and his skills as well as the defender and his skills.

  • If one trains constantly on these techniques, it will become instinctive.

  • Thank you for sharing, but these knife defense techniques won't work in real life situations. They are nice to look at though.

  • Where is Mr. Cheatham's school? Its in Oklahoma right? Cause im really interested in classes. Im a student of Jack Hwang in OKC.

  • I am a bit bias - I train with Mr. Cheatham - nicerebound - dont know your creds but unless you are in possession of a lead firing apparatus my money is on Mr. Cheatham

A.R.C.K. - this might be a bit simple - but what do you know about sayoc kali -
