Unfortunately, this device only works uni-directionally, meaning it will not send a signal from an HDMI device to a VGA monitor. I'm actually not aware of any equipment that does that task. But it works as an upconverter, changing VGA to HDMI for newer displays.

I'm sure there's a solution for that out there, but I don't know of anything right off the bat. I'll poke around and see what I can find for you.

Hopefully you will find this useful. It's a simple, low-cost way to watch computer video with audio on your TV. The cool thing about this solution is that it includes all of the cables, even the HDMI cable.
