The sceptics are wrong. I've heard this guy conduct the Halle, and they played for him like no-one else on both occasions I did. He's fantastic, a real musician.

He's overrrated. Bottom line is, composers aren't THAT important. It's mostly the quality of the players that matters, and Pittsburgh excels there.
