The GOP's Mad Rush To Embrace Immigration Reform

As Republicans look to regroup after President Obama's re-election victory, one particular concern seems to have taken hold: the GOP's profound failure with Latino voters.
Just after Mitt Romney conceded defeat, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio took to Facebook, warning that "Republicans need to work harder" to show how their beliefs benefit immigrant communities. Rick Santorum, Romney's fiercest challenger for the Republican nomination, said the party "didn't have a strong message for those folks." And even Fox News firebrand Sean Hannity got in on the about-face, telling his radio listeners that he had "evolved" on immigration and that Republicans need to support reform—including the heretofore much-loathed "pathway to citizenship."
The Republicans' urgency is warranted. President Obama won 71 percent of the Hispanic vote this week, even more than in 2008, and Latinos are by far the fastest-growing demographic in the United States.

~~*~*Marco Rubio's parents watched their nation become a communist state while their son grew to be a FASCIST. Americans of Mexican descent, Mexican immigrants & any other Spanish speaking person from Central & South America will never identify with a FASCIST simply because he speaks Spanish. These people came to the U.S. to escape the economic & social oppression in their FASCIST homelands.__ YES nominate RUBIO IN 2016. He can join the long list of PAYASOS IN THE GOP CLOWN HALL OF FAME.

Latinos are Conservative and have conservative views, we believe in working hard and not to take things for granted.Historically Republicans have done well with the Hispanic community but Romney just had his agenda all wrong and we felt he was not interested in us, personally I want no handouts, I want fair job opportunities for everyone, our government can only give out so much help and we need to realize that.
Hopefully both parties can find common ground on this issue.

Marco Rubio is just as Latino-unfriendly as any other Republican politician. How can you show that your party's beliefs benefit immigrant communities when they so clearly don't? The GOP has a serious liability on its hands--the fundamentalist, xenophobic core base it has spent so many years fostering. Good luck reasoning with those people now.

This is why conservatives always fail. They are against progress. Conservatives by nature are stuck.
