I am officially 8 months post-BC tomorrow March 22nd! The time is FLYING! : )

I attended a fundraiser for Haiti relief funds that was geared towards women and received a new hair-do and makeup from my donation. It was amazing to see dozens of stylists and makeup artists volunteering their time to help raise money for this cause!

They also had a massage therapist...let's just say I felt like a new woman after my session! : )

I also want to take the time to thank all of my wonderful subscribers for watching, sharing comments and even sending me messages! I honestly love interacting with you all and its a double pleasure when I meet some of you randomly in my day-to-day activities! [Shoutout to the ladies I met at the recent My Black Is Beautiful event !! : )]

*Info on my hair*:

I co-washed my hair before the event and only put sweet almond oil on it after washing. The stylist (who was natural) blow-dried my hair (med/hi heat) and then flat-ironed and trimmed to style. Don't even ask me what the makeup artist (MUA) did...you all know I'm a beginner in that area, lol. This is my FIRST time wearing lashes!! She did have a cool tape technique to give the eyeshadow a clean slant at the edges though.

  • Nikki how long does it take your hair to go back to curls? Btw I really love your hair in all the various styles you have. If I was a woman of color I would try all the awesome styles you shared. My hair is naturally wavy not straight and not curly so it's a pain in the tuchas. I came upon your page looking for ways to unfriz my hair and found your coconut butter video. Take care and keep looking fabulous!

  • @ShoshieB1 hi there! My hair goes back to my curls as soon as I wash it. Naturally wavy hair is beautiful...don't be afraid to experiment with your hair : ) Hope the coconut oil helps with your hair! Thanks for dropping by : ) *Mae*

  • if they used a CHI your hair would look like you permed it...best hair straightener ever

  • roooh *o* you're s cute!!!

  • Nikki, I'm a very recent subsciber and I think you're tres chic!! Love your style, but more importantly your attitude on life. Adventurous, bold and enthusiastic is how I would describe you. The look in this video is cute on you, especially for evening or an event. Prefer your casual less makeup approach for everyday though. :>)
