Jonathan Cain (Journey) Arrival Tour Piano Solo.. by me.

This is my rendition of American supergroup Journey's Jonathan Cain Piano Solo from the Arrival Tour DVD - ok it ain't 100% accurate (I can't quite get my fingers round that appregio bit near the end not being classically trained like he is) but its pretty damn close I think.

I've gone for a static camera angle this time placing the camera high over the keys so others can perhaps make out the notes and shapes. Sorry I don't have the dots for this piece before anybody asks - I just had to listen to it for hours, breaking it down into segments and practising each one until the wife, kids and neighbors all complained. They just don't understand us musicians do they!

The keyboard I am using is a Roland RD-300s which doesn't have reverb so this was added post production using Cool Edit Pro 2.0

There is a live version of me playing this with Journey tribute band 'The Essential Journey' but I get so nervous sometimes and play it at 200mph!

Anyway I hope you enjoy this rendition, Cain is a fabulous keyboard player and if any of you UK viewers have only ever heard of Journey's UK hits Who's Crying Now and Don't Stop Believing I recommend you check the rest of their catalogue cos they kick the living shit out of anything this country has produced of late.
