An extravagant fireworks display, said to have costed $20 million, just for the firework display. The hotel is worth $1.5 billion. On the night of the opening numerous celebrities were invited.

imagine a child, dying tonight because it's hungry, imagine a face of a little boy who's parent aren't alive because they were killed in a war........ instead of this money could have been given for food for poor little babies, who will close their little eyes tonight forever, because they did not have chance to see this, they did not have a chance to live......

secondly ..the city is 1 of the most rapidly growing (economically) cities in this world..so what if its in debts at the moment...theyve seen the best of dayss...and they can handle these small hurdles...and abt the man u mentioned...it wasnt his fault that the world market crashed....other wise u wudnt even be able t see dubai u hater!

that was waaaaaay over 2 mill they were shooting 6in mortars for 4 min strait with enough of them to iluminate a whole island the size of a major city all timed and coreographed! pluse they had much bigger shells for the empisis parts... WOOOOW i would hate to have had to time and set up that whole thing that must have taken days

actually it took weeks to set it up. and so nothing would interfere with the fireworks...all houses had to have no lights on, and no-one was allowed on the roads 6 hours before the fireworks started
