Some of Polanski's first films

The Short Films of Roman Polanski -

  • On 4:57 you can see the cameraman (or Polanski himself) on the reflection of the broken mirror piece on the wardrobe.

  • @MproductionsMovies rookie mistake :)

  • I used to respect and admire Roman, but after seen this film where actually they hurt for real the poor kitten, that is immoral and unethical!. Promoting animal cruelty in films is not something a good film director does.

  • @mnemmosyne I totally agree with you! I used to respect him very much, but after seen this abuse to that kitten (obviously not fake), it is pathetic.

  • @mnemmosyne It is to make a point and get reaction of total disapproval for behavior like that. Your reaction is exactly what the filmmaker was looking for. You don't believe that the cat was hurt, I hope.

  • @MproductionsMovies Also in "Nosferatu" (1922) you can see in the mirror reflection of vampire near the end when he is with sleeping girl (mirror is much behing and I dont think mirror is put deliberatly I think they just didnt pay attention during shooting). Vampire reflection in mirror what do you say on that, so ironic, but film is great to me. Nosferatu is brilliantly directed and real work of art when we put aside that 1 scene.

  • I hate the idea of using animals in those kind of scenes. Sorry Roman, but if you can't show us that they were cruel idiots without cat abusing, you not a good film director... :/

  • @trybul3 Ok. I should have said "being on a low budget is no excuse" then. Sorry.

  • @alphacanis that was in 1958, he was 24. That was rather a school project not a "low budget movie". ;D lol

  • Such a sad short movie.. Polanski is my favourite director, he's simply amazing

  • It's funny how nobody really knows anything about people. No matter how open they are in life. Idiotic prejudices and cruelty reign supreme.

And I say that as much about the comments on here as anything else.

  • 3:13 this guy is a spitting image of tom waits.
