If I compare the feeling I had watching Blair Witch for the first time, on my own, in the dark, to watching Paranormal Activity, then I reckon Blair Witch is the better film. It's a better story and the camera was used for most of the time as an extra person within the group, while in PA you're just the voyeur in the corner for most of it. I never saw the BW internet hype before the release, so that didn't influence me - BW might have been scarier if I had!
PA is still a very good film.
