L.A.P.D. vs S.L.A. Part 6

The Symbionese Liberation Army (S.L.A.) was an American self-styled militant group active between 1973 and 1975 that considered itself a revolutionary vanguard army. The group committed bank robberies, two murders and other acts of violence.

The S.L.A. became internationally notorious for kidnapping media heiress Patty Hearst, abducting the 19-year-old as she and her 26-year-old boyfriend, Steven Weed, sat relaxing in their Berkeley, California home. National interest grew into worldwide fascination when Hearst, in audiotaped messages delivered to (and broadcast by) regional news media, denounced her parents and announced she had joined the S.L.A. She was subsequently observed participating in their illegal activities. Hearst later alleged that she had been held in close confinement, and brainwashed.

On May 17,1974 Los Angeles police surrounded a house where most SLA members were holed up. A massive shootout ensued, and the building went up in flames -- shown live on television.

Doesn't seem fair that patty Hearst recieved a commutation while the others are still in prison. If Patty had been kidnapped and brainwashed how do you know the others weren't. It's good to be rich.

the SLA didn't know how to shoot. only idiots shoot full auto. the SLA are a bunch of rich kids with guns and no idea what the hell they're doing. A lot like video gamers who claims to be an expert in firearms.

In that kind of situation FA fire can be terrorizing, but if I hug the dirt i won't be hit. Once you get over the noise it's not scary. If the shots are slow and precise instead of fast and random, then I'd really fear for my life!

I can't find any info verifying that. However, the ACLU does step in to defend our constitution in controversial cases, including defending anti-abortion speech and a student's right to wear clothing with anti-Muslim slogans on shirts. Famously, they claimed that the state of Florida violated Rush LImbaugh's right to privacy when the state seized his medical records.
