  • Now why would I need light in the sun?

  • @usefortouch you wouldnt. the sun charges it then you use it in the house or wherever you need light

  • What is the 2X4 for?

  • @bigt2318 To hold the light. The bottom is uneven and won't stay up without something to hold it.

  • Does this qualify for a federal tax rebate? Solar power! If so, 30% tax credit. lol Great idea and please keep them comming.

  • @sebagosteve Oh man I've got to look in to that! lol Thanks bud

  • The title of this video is 'Build a solar powered light...' All you did was buy one from Walmart and stick it in a piece of wood. Where's the building???

You should change the title of this video to 'Where to buy a solar powered light' or 'How to drill a hole in a piece of wood'

  • Wow u really didn't make anything. U drilled a hole

  • There is a battery in the top sou you do need a battery, eventually.

  • Actually, this helped me a lot. I was looking for cheap solar lights with timers to set into some hanging lanterns that are meant for candles that I have. By making a holder in a piece of board like you did, I can just use the top of them. I didn't know the stem came off as I am shopping online and have not looked at one in the store. (I don't live by stores and rarely go) Thank you!!!

  • Here Walmat in season charges 3.50, but in the fall they drop to 2.00 on clearance, but I miss the clearance sale this year. I seen some Xmas holiday lights in this same style, but smaller for 2.50. I'm not getting any caz, I have enough of the others now.

  • LOL; U beat me to sharing this idea. I hadn't done so yet because I never got around to installing a switch on it to be able to turn it off. Another refinement would be to build a fixture that uses a reflector. Another would be to install another battery in parallel. 1 of same voltage & ampacity would 2x run time but charge time wold be 2x as well. A bat. with the same voltage & but lower ampacity could strike a better balance. As in paring up the stock AA with a AAA.

  • @CopingWithTheTimes oh really i didnt know that.thanks to educate me.

  • Please don't mention Walmart
