This is a video responce regarding what just happened to my daughter. Sorry about the video quality, we grabbed the digital camera to take the video and it isnt the best quality.

She was sitting in this swing (strapped/buckled in just like the instructions said), being content, and so I left the room for a minute or two to do something in the other room. Suddenly she started crying, but since she has been fussy because of teething, I didn't jump up right away to calm her. After about a minute of her crying, I went to check on her, and her head was hanging out of the side of the swing, and the bar was pressing against her neck!!!!!!!!!! I ran over there to get her out of the swing, and she had a large red mark on her neck! If I hadn't checked up on her when I did, she could have strangled! Whats worse... if the swing would have been on any higher of a setting, her head would have been banging against the metal poles! I would not suggest this swing to ANYONE, and I plan on calling Fisher Price in the morning to complain about their product! Babies R US better take this swing back.....I will not have such a dangerous thing in my home! THIS SWING IS A DEATH TRAP!!! VERY UNSAFE!!!

  • I can see realtalentone wiggling her finger and neck back and forth while she said that. Anyways, if you are a mother (in which if you aren't you have no right to comment on something you don't know about), you can't tell me that you have never left your child in a swing for a minute or two to go do this dishes or go to the bathroom. This seat was recalled because MANY other parents called in the same issue, whether they were staring at their child or in the other room doing necessary chores.

  • Yes, it is easy to say that, but a child should be safe in a swing. NO parent keeps their eyes afixed to their baby 24/7... it just isn't possible. I only left for about a minute to do a chore in the other room. The point of having a baby swing is to place your child in a safe place so you can take a break, and he/she can calm down. I did not use the swing as a babysitter. I didn't leave her in there for hours on end.

  • She was almost 3 months. The box said this was an appropriate age, and her weight was within their guidelines. BTW they recalled this swing a few months ago...

  • first of all bitch dont leave your kid unattended and shit like that wont happen!

  • My granddaughter suffered the same fate in this swing so we stopped using it. She had just got to the stage to be able to grab the hanging toys when it happened before my eyes. I just assumed swings were not her thing. I just went to put in online for sale and discovered the recall! Our product numbers matched the F series .Send in the pad and get a $65 dollar voucher good for Mattel/Fisher Price.

  • page 2,bullet point 3 of the instruction manual......."NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED" quite simple really, instead of complaining maybe you should be more attentive.

  • how old was your daughter to use the swing?

  • omg!! well i'm glad your lil one made it out ok. sometimes the best swings are the ones in mom and dad's arms.
