what settings are you running on the tig welder? did you use 100% argon?
-
very nice, i'm jealous of your welding skills. I can only guess that your brewing skills are nothing short of them

i must say that i am impressed and thankful that you have posted this video. i just bought a half barrel keg off ebay for $36 and just picked it up locally. now i have to find a welder friend of mine to do the work! but this video has shown me what needs to be done, and once again, thank you. you did a really professional job as well, congrats!

Next time get the lid first so you can measure the hole.

That air sander sounds like a visit to the dentist

Great vids. Just wish I had the equipment to do this!

I wish I had your tools dude.
you don't have any concerns about using solar flux on something that will come in contact with beer? their web site even frowns on using it in food contact applications

@coachshatner I've since taken to back gassing my welds rather than using flux. Properly cleaned, I don't see an issue with flux, but I'd rather purge with gas.

Thanks for the vid. What do you think about the no-weld valves?

Nothing wrong with weldless fittings. I just prefer the durability and neatness of welded fittings.
