UFC is good. WWE can be good too if they get their shit back together. I'd gladly spend about the same time watching both.

Correction: WWE is watered down as all hell. If it were still TV-14, things'd be a whole lot different compared to what the little kiddies' TV-PG gives you.

"I'm more drawn to WWE because of its larger-than-life characters--".; WWE's TV-PG, pandering to an all-new demographic, its matches are slow-paced, their in-ring styles are completely watered down & about 45% of their fan-base is women & children.
After Vince literally begged his way to a TV-PG rating in Mid-2008 & got it, by the way, the WWE's now-former TV-14 fan-base is currently watching what's more suited for that demographic: UFC, Ring Of Honor & 'TNA Impact'.

You are completely wrong on all accounts. I'm a fan of both MMA and professional (fake) wrestling, but your analysis of why it's failing is just bogus.
Wrestling is more real now than it has ever been. Wrestlers no longer have outlandish gimmicks, and their on-screen characters are basically extensions of their real-life personalities. The in-ring action is more dangerous, stiff and impactful than it was during the height of wrestling's popularity.
