The Midwest response to SNL's "Lazy Sunday" short. Shot over a weekend in February '06 in Muncie, Indiana. SOME TRIVIA:
1. The pond is my sister's.
2. The hat I have on at the beginning is her husband's local home building company TK Constructors.
3. The barn is off of 600 west right near McGalliard.
4. When my nephew Chase spins around, he's actually standing on one of his bar stool seats that we unscrewed legs from, and I'm on the floor just out of frame spinning it. Low tech, but it worked.
5. Kirby eating the gravy was shot in Ball State University's football stadium bleachers, and Kirby ate about 8 bicuits and about a pint of gravy. He wasn't "loving" gravy by the end of it.

  • what the hell is this shit?

  • Trust me, Battlegay, if I knew I'd tell ya. I just don't have a clue.

  • Loved it! I was born and raised just off Tillotson a half mile or so north of McGalliard. When I was a kid, McGalliard didn't even exist out that far. Bethel was the road out to I-69.

About Letterman - true, he wasn't born in Muncie, but he went to school at Testicle Tech back in the late sixties. Art major, I think.

  • The portion of the video where Kirby is breaking it down is about people that are from Indiana in general, not just Muncie. Letterman is from India-no-place, Indiana.

  • How'd you get Kirby Heybourne in this video? I never knew of him before this but googled him and found out he's not even from Indiana. Nuts! Either way he is hilarious and I'll look out for more from him in the future.

  • I actually abducted Kirby from his home after seeing him on the series "Free Ride" on Fox. I flew out to LA on a redeye and gagged him with chloroform. I promised him I'd bring him back if he only did this one favor for me. He was really in no position to argue, so he agreed. This was all after he woke up from the chloroform, of course, in a taxi on the way to LAX for the first flt back to Indy. It was a rough start at first, but then he slowly got into the concept. And presto, Lazy Muncie!

  • I like this a lot more now that I'm dating a guy who went to Ball State.

  • I'm originally from Kennard, over near New Castle but I went to college at Ball State and my brother still lives in Muncie and actually snuck onto Jim Davis's property to try to get an interview to work for him and got caught. Jim was nice about it though and spoke to him briefly before letting him leave without going to jail. I love this! I live in Oklahoma City right now but I'm still a Hoosier at heart.

  • I come back and watch this at least twice a year.

  • Nice

  • You guys still in Muncie? We should collab.

  • i don't like rap but this was very great, great job guys..! by the way jim davis was our sponcer for off road R/C car racing, we our team of 20 drivers had the big yellow cat on the bottom of our cars, so the other racers would know who we were, it was very effective in ohio at the state race there, we wouldent have though of racing with out garfield the big yellow cat, jim is gone now rest in peace jim god be with you..! i might add garfield was the most publisized cartoon in all of the wrold,

  • hey i actually live right down the road from the red barn with the silo's! lol

  • @YouTheRobot hahaha I'm from muncie (yorktown to be exact) too, and yeah it's a little out there, but still some what accurate lol

  • @YouTheRobot There's a drag strip. I've been to it.

  • I love these videos and have been following them. I think the lake scene was taken at the recreational area east of Muncie, right? I am a former Ball State student, and believe it, Muncie was a big city from where I originated! lol;). You guys are all talented and this is original material, so, yes, there is more to Muncie, Indiana than BSU!
