HI Indydoll, I'm not aware of any study that has shown an increase in blood pressure due to use of tens unit. I know some people can get "agitated" with the sensation as feels "strange" and possibly that is what is being referred to. It is not caused by the electrical stimulus but due to the patients reaction. A psychological reaction, much like apprehension is due to any number of things, but not due to tens. Those who feel that way quit using tens generally or learn new coping skills

thank you - straight to the point - very helpful!
i forgot i had a tens machine from 10yrs back & have unearthed it for recovery from shoulder surgery & the aches etc as a result of rehabing...
forgot that it even had pulse rate & width dials - which i am now enjoying playing with.
recall, my physio telling me that some positions can encourage high blood pressure - are you in agreement with this??
I'm enjoying the sensation of what feels like nails being hammered into shoulder on low pulse rate!

Hi BandiDel, This type product can be used for TMJ although due to not being great deal of conductive tissues, ie. muscle etc. then have to use smaller electrodes etc. Tens has been used, minimally successfully, but with interferential can actually do treatment for short time periods, 20 - 45 minutes, and should have immediate results. You would know after 3-5 30 minute treatments if will work fo you or not. Interferential provides "carryover pain releif" where tens does not.

I tried this with very little success. The powerful therapy lasers from cutting edge blows this therapy away.

Yes with and without success. The key seems to be some of the headaches are precipitated by muscle tightness. relaxing muscle tension, prevents occurrence or lessens severity during the headache. ON hocu placement that is a universal app. that centers around stimulating a nerve bundle. The original use was a tens treatment around neck and shoulders to stop the occurrence of migraine headaches which meets with limited success. Now limited success also means any success was greater

has anyone tried this with success??
