This is a video I created about Vincent van Gogh using Reallusion's Crazytalk software. This is my first attempt of using Crazytalk, and it has amazing potential for bringing my art history presentations to life.

The narrator's voice is the Lawrence text-to-speech voice from Cepstral. Some demos of their voices are here: http://www.cepstral.com/demos/ . I like using another voice - hate the sound of my own voice! I downloaded and installed Cepstral's Lawrence voice on my computer, and after that it appeared as an optional voice in Crazytalk. I wrote the script directly in Crazytalk with a few manipulations (like using commas for pauses, creatively spelling words the way the sound, and breaking up syllables) so the voice will pronounce things right.

Most of the characters that speak in the video are made from Vincent van Gogh's paintings, except the first character - that is Paul Gauguin speaking about Vincent.

  • Why do SwiftTalkers Cepstral voices all sound like they are talking underwater?

  • lol...Cepstral voices still sound better than my voice, and I don't have the budgett for professional narration.

  • I'm sorry I didn't mean to be rude to you. Just that I've downloaded Cesptral and it does the same thing on my computer.

  • No apologies necessary...I thought you made a good observation! Thanks, davidsghost!

  • wow, found this online and the voice totally rocks! you did a really good job, I'm checking Cesptral out right now. Thanks, this was great.

  • yellow is also the color of depression, many people who buy bright yellow cars suffer from depression, because it is its opposition. Great video thanks

  • 真新奇。制作的真好。wanderful.

  • Thanks, I was using Cesptral to help me with some college reading material that is online. It's OK but I've switched back to ReadPlease because the voices flow much better - even though ReadPlease voices are very machanical the voices are easier to follow. For me anyway. Plus ReadPlease is free and Cesptral voices are $30 each.

  • very good! I am actually struggeling a bit with this voices, how good is Millie, have you used it?

  • How did you create the voice?
