Meb Keflezighi lives and trains in Mammoth Lakes California. Meb, winner of the 2009 New York City Marathon defends his title on November 7th 2010. This is a video of Meb on a six mile run near Mammoth. Average speed, 12.5 mph. 4:40 miles .... Meb is a bronze medal winner in the marathon at the Rome Olympics.
At the 2009 U.S. Cross Country Championships, Meb finished first and in last year's ING New York City Marathon, a race with one of the most competitive fields ever assembled in the event's long history, Meb prevailed and became the first American to win the race since 1982.

Meb recently founded the MEB Foundation, which will focus on promoting health, fitness, and education in the United States and in his native country of Eritrea. Take The Magic Step® caught up with Meb as he was beginning his taper before he returns to New York to defend his title. Meb won the Houston Marathon Olympic trials race with another PR. Meb will go to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

  • @java1010a hell im 5'1" i can run a 7 minute pace. i think its decent. i am dedicated and willing to do the 2012 chicago marathon.

  • Meb makes it look ALL look so easy and effortless. Not to mention he is just a great guy plus an elite runner, Dad, Husband, Brother, and Christian. Very cool.

  • Sorry to be a prick but I thought he won a silver not a bronze medal at the Athens Olympics not the Rome Olympics...
