Ian How - Runaway - Funk Mix

Runaway was written by Vincent Montana Jnr a legendary writer producer & musician whose listed credits include the extensive work he did with the Salsoul Orchestra. This was a massive hit for the hugely talented Diva Loleatta Holloway & many years later would also become a hit for Nuyorican Soul featuring India. It is my "Love" of the track that made me want to do my own cover & so I recorded it with the "Brilliant" Peter Seymour as the producer. You can never imitate or better the original version so I always set out to create my own "Individual" take. We recorded the track keeping it as authentic musically as the original & then Peter Seymour remixed it with the result being this Funk Mix. "Runaway" is a fantastic song - we can only dream of recording those grand orchestras today, but this stripped-down arrangement works really well! Nice vocal too, Ian!
