Author and activist David Swanson says that the president has way too much power. He feels that the U.S. is looking more like an empire than a republic these days. While the executive's power seems to be increasing, Swanson questions what this could mean for the future of the country. RT's Dina Gusovsky gets all the details.

  • Wow...these questions about America's foreign policy are almost NEVER asked in our own domestic media. God bless RussiaToday for having the courage and intellectual rigor to challenge these assumptions and bring real news to the U.S.

  • This expansion of power is exactly what lead to the fall of the Roman Empire. R.I.P. U.S.A.

  • IMHO Dina should break off and go indy, she has built contacts and her looks and enthusiasm can easily build a fanbase. I could see her going viral if she is indy.

  • it is not illegal when they make the laws...

  • China, Russia, America the most hated cuntries in the world, you guys are fucked

  • Derp.

    Know what that means?

    Means you're dumb.

  • That has nothing to do with it.

There are plenty of people living stateside who concur with what I'm saying.

    Oh let me guess.

    "THEY AIN'T AMERIKKUN!"

  • Youtube founders are US Citizens, not all of them started out that way...Consequently giving us All a wider point of view on these important issues...

  • I love the way its always our media spewing out propaganda and not theirs...There is NOT 1 news outlet on this little planet of ours that is NOT self serving...We watch this "English Spoken" Russian news channel so we might get a wider view of opinions...They are more willing to talk about our problems than there own...However this is the case the world over...Call it what you will...

  • Why are you so upset then? RT gives you a lot of useful information, so you can prepare for certain eventualities and also look at American policies from a different point of view. The majority of people interviewed on RT are Americans, by the way , who are happy to get a platform for their thoughts. Just as lots of Russians talk to and for the American media. I am glad it's not one-sided anymore.

  • I've never said anything about it.

I'm talking about RussiaToday, not the American media.

This means I've never claimed that the US media did not do such things.

Yet you want to play the "blah blah ur a hypocrite" card?

    Come on.
