How to define ethics without religion.
Not sure about the sync problem. My original files are fine until youtube processes them. I will be looking into how to solve this.

  • I'm totally going to write you. My thoughts are longer than 500 characters, but in the email I'll let you know what quotes, ideas and time on the video. It might take a week to get back properly, this week is my bday and I'll be busy conducting debauchery.

  • @iheartdd4eva Well that's cool :) Happy birthday to ya. Hope your debauchery goes well and the jail time is kept to the bare minimum lol Emails are fine. Video responses are even better and the blog should be up an runnin in the next week or so. Still trying to tune it for now.

  • Oh jesus... You believe in social contracts too. I bet you could define "contract" as well as you could define "selfish." Goodness.

You got a sharp mind but your argument has some really basic holes one could drive a truck through.

  • @iheartdd4eva I believe in an idea that is best described with the word contract. As for definitions, yes I have a dictionary and can look up both but I don't suppose that will mean anything if I am trying to understand what you feel those words mean.

So I get the fact you don't like it and feel there are holes but I don't see you defining those holes. So feel free to elaborate upon your claims in a video response or here in text. Skip the adhom and state your case.

  • How is selfishness the opposite of benevolent? They are not opposites. Is it selfishness, ie malevolent, if I wish to keep the product of my labor rather than have it taken by another? Is it benevolent if I give another person something I stole from another? I was willing to share the product of my theft.

  • @iheartdd4eva If you want to point out the spot in the video that you are referring to, I will happily go back and take a peek at the word choices you are disagreeing with. I made this video quite a while back and I don't watch them again after I upload them. So I honestly have no way to know what you are referring to unless you give me a time reference in the video. I probably won't be re watching a 20 minute video to answer a single comment.

  • @0baalberith0 killing few to save many isn't mathematical. Morals are by their nature non-scientific, maths and physics don't promote moral code of whats right and wrong. Plus they are themselves human creations, not universal certainties that tell us how to behave. If i decided it would be fine to kill many to save myself, I wouldn't be right or wrong.

  • @mickoooo123 I listed math and physics as examples of universal logic untainted by human influences. An example would be, say, kill a few to save many. I know you are going to ask me how would I feel to be placed in the few. Well, remember when I said moral "rules" are made from a persons perspective and experience? I am sure that my perspective would change that moral rules if I was in the few as it would stay the same if I remained in the many.

  • @0baalberith0 How can maths and physics tell us anything about morality? Can you give an example of a moral based on reason or critical thinking, as you say they should be?

  • @mickoooo123 Well I am always open for discussion and if I realize that I was wrong I will admit it, but opinions are formed in conditions that are unique for every person alone. Universal reason and logic should be the "judge of the jungle", not a person, but a method... Like math, physics, statistics and shit without an agenda.

  • @0baalberith0 Well you'll get no arguments from me on that front. What if someone else's opinions are different to yours though? How do you decide which is right? some arbitrary process?

  • @mickoooo123 My own opinions based on observation from my own point of view. You really have a childs mind.

  • @0baalberith0 Ok so which parts are bullshit and which parts are not? How have you discerned the difference between the two parts anyways? Just your own opinions or have you a bullshit detector? I used to have one of those but lost the damn thing, it was such a useful device and now I cant seem to find one anywhere...very frustrating.

  • @mickoooo123 Would you be interested in growing the fuck up and focusing on the point of my comment. I never said morality is all bullshit, just a big part of it.

  • @0baalberith0 Ah yes, the LAW OF THE JUNGLE, we all know it well....I once seen a lion put on trial for making a libelous comment about a well known celebrity, whom I wont name. You seem to know your stuff in regard to the origins of all life, would you be interested in applying for a position as Judge of the Jungle?

  • @iheartdd4eva God you sound very clever, I hope you find a forum that will do your intellectual musings justice. Heehee, oh your clever use irony is so.....clever...You're talent is really wasted on these youtube comments, you should get a job writing scripts for some highbrow TV show, not one of those stupid shows for suckers, a show for smug idiots who think they're really smart, on of those shows.
