Trumpet solo by Clifford on part 2, taken from the 10-cd box "Brownie" by trumpetist Clifford Brown who died in a car accident in 1956 age 26.
The best interpretation of the song I've ever heard.

  • This is part 1. It's from the 1954 album on EmArcy titled 'Best Coast Jazz'. I've seen the album cover from the album here at you tube. The cover is a picture of all the players in the recording studio. Kenny Drew, Max Roach, Clifford, George Morrow from the East Coast and the great Joe Maini & Walter Benton from the West Coast. This tune is on one side & Coronado on the other. Available in Japan for 20 years I believe. Clifford Brown closes it out with the greatest trumpet solo I've ever heard

  • ..Agreed! Just breathtaking, pure lyricism by all involved!

  • Ecstatic, heartbreaking, glorious, tear-bringing, beautiful playing.
