Quantum Leap Doorway Effect

http://blog.peculiarplace.com Quantum Leap style doorway effect. I did this with sony vegas using a couple of masks and a whole lot of key frames because the lighting on the source clip wasn't good enough to use chroma key no no matter how much color correction I tried to apply.

Hi, Good attempted, I have a lot of respect for you trying to do it with key frames. That was exactly why I did my video on a still photo rather than video. Ideally, this needs to be done with chroma-key, but I didn't have a coloured sheet to use when I did mine.

I've got a green screen setup but the source footage was shot away from home in a room with some truly terrible lighting.. I spent several hours trying to chroma key that wall behind her but the light was too low and the wrong color.

Cool! I'd always thought you needed After Effects to do this. Glad to see I was wrong!

You should be able to do it in any video editor that allows you to use masking or (preferably) Chroma key

Yes, lighting is king! I was reminded of this only yesterday when I was filming a seemingly simple mobile phone review.
