  • this song is giving me a hard time!!!cant seem to get the chord changes yet..love this song though..

  • This song is not as easy as it sounds.

  • How do you do that song without a capo?

  • Just don't put one on and slide everything down two frets. Standard G tuning is what this song is played out of but most people capo it at the 2nd fret so it comes out in the key of A.

  • I really appreciate these lessons...I just wish you would play in G..most beginners don't have capos or spikes....

  • I am practicing this song along with this video. I am in good timing. :)

  • I'm so glad you put this video up. I'm learning this song right now, and it's incredibly helpful to have this up here. Thanks!

  • i got on your website a coupla months ago for the tab, and today I can finally play this! Thanks a lot for the help!!

  • This is very helpful sir, but how this was video taped no one can tell what strings are open!

  • what roll are you playing?

  • Tony Trischka showed how cool it was to choke the 2>4 vamp a bit. You did a really nice job.

  • Thanks for showing the fingering. I had been having an awkward time transitioning between the E to D licks. I have trouble getting that 4 finger D chord planted fast enough. You show planting 3 then waiting on the 4th string til needed. I think that will help. thanks

  • except that isn't earl...

  • Yee-Haw, This is Earl Scruggs at his banjo pickin' best. I like the way he uses his signature "three finger" pickin' style. Play that banjo, Earl!
