So that a bunch of old people with nothing better to do can sit around and get paid to enforce athetic rules against the community. It's a HUGE scam and so many stupid people say "ok here I just want the home take my money". EVERY Condo has a HOA. You dont pay the fees the take your house. We wanted a house and found out it was a HOA community and told them to go fuck themselves. Amazing how fucking stupid people are. Here old geezers take my money!!

I hate HOAs, but unpaid dues can be crippling to an Association. Dues pay for water, landscaping, recreational facilities/pool maintenance, trees, etc. Owners who fall behind in paying their HOA Dues can use Bankruptcy to get them out, but the loss of income gets divided up among the homeowners who still live in the HOA. This can be crippling to those on a fixed income and I certainly do not want to pay someone else's Dues! If you don't pay, you lose your home and go back to renting.
