@prgriffin2 miguel cotto, mike tyson, julio cesar chaves. These guys made meals out of guys ribs. It all depends on who your talking about. Majority of pressure fighters will be going to the body. So i dont think saying that there arnt many kos by bodyshots. Not only that they are extremely painful when landed flush. trust me -_-
@seymourbutt69 yeah i know what you mean though...there arent many kos from bodyshots but its still good to have a few n ur arsenal...if nething it allows u 2 land more 2 the head bc they have 2 change theyre defense...the double hook to the body and the head can b very effective even though the punches may not have that much power...check out how effective ray robinson was he was a master of the multihooks
@seymourbutt69 Doesn't matter, it affects the fighter physically inflicting significant damage since a Heavyweight's punch is devastating & it also enforces them to lower their hand to protect their body, exposing their face. I've seen Light-Heavyweights go down from body shots.
@11sean05 Ever heard of the hook my friend? You're supposed to watch the GLOVE not the elbows, of course he was going to make contact with Castillo's face with his elbow in such a tight situation.
@jflgaray Mayweather pivots on the waist, shoulder rolls (what you call elbowing) & knows how to adjust his position slightly to make his opponents angle smaller. He can also stand in the pocket and make fighters miss more than 50% of the shots (just look at the Ndou fight). Anybody with some credible boxing knowledge will tell you Tyson's defense was nothing but mediocre. Bobbing your head side to side isn't nothing special at all when you can't defend your body.

@seymourbutt69 Last time? I don't know, but it happens. Solid, open body shot will put a fighter down.
