From West Mersea, I headed for shelter in Bradwell marina, then set off to unexpected conditions and had to dive for shelter in Brightlingsea.

Yes, I agree, dough too wet. My mum told me about 80 years ago that you should keep adding flour to the mix when it is like that until you can clean the bowl with the dough by wiping it round the bowl. When it is ready, you can handle it with floured hands and it wont stick. Another tip is go to a shop and buy some. Another great vid; I'm glad you came back in.

I may be able to help with that one - you can use an old camping trick...

Instead of mixing the bread in a bowl, put all the ingredients into a small plastic bag (no holes, naturally) and knead it in there - then dump it into the pan. No mess that way.

Or the trick I use to get dough off my hands when I bake...

Just rub your hands together for a bit and the dough should just crumb off. That looked a good bit more gooey than the stuff I usually make tho, so YMMV.

Couldnt work out what Dylan was meaning until I watched the vid.

Me & the missus had 28 gusting over the mast last time out & still managed to have a snooze in the cockpit & we were close hauled.  Havent lost mine yetbut it was starting to get a little rough.
