My great uncle Alex is in the film. He lived on Islay where they filmed part of it. He was known as The Bard, and was a poet and songwriter. He couldn't speak any English and spoke only Gaelic. From what my father tells me, him having been evacuated to Islay during the war, he drank like a fish, smoked like a chimney and died at 98.
@stevenblack63 well said and awsome film

Auld Tommy Cairns is the wee boy in this. Originally from the wine Ally in Govan.I grew up with his boys in Corkerhill. Great old movie.
