Gadget geeks queued for more than 24 hours outside Apple's flagship store on Regent Street to get their hands on the new iPhone, on sale at 6.02 today.

One of the most anticipated gadgets of the year, the iPhone integrates a mobile phone with a web browser and iPod.

Apple's exclusive deal with O2 means that to buy the phone you also have to sign up to an 18-month contract.

Fans braved freezing temperatures and heavy rain, camping outside the store to ensure they were first in queue, but other shoppers were not so excited.

The IPhone has been criticized in reviews for not having a fast enough web browser and critics also say other brands have made devises equally as dazzling.
