i am a beginner and practicing and gradually building up stretching my fingers from 2st fret and pinky down 4 frets but I am having great difficulty in bar chords.. Can you do he ber ont the fret bar. I have been trying to barr in the middle of the fret... is this wrong???

yea bar chords are almost like power chords. i learned to easily do bar chords by doing a bunch of power chords.
