1. Create a cube.
2. Center the view by pressing "a".
3. In the top view select the points on the left side.
4. Center the selected ponts by pressing "v" and entering "0" for the x axis translation.
5. Select the polygon at the scene origin (0,0,0) with "u" and delete it.
6. Select the cube and clone it - Edit> Duplicate/Instantiate >Clone single.
7. With the clone still selected, scale it on the x axis to -1.

8. Select both objects and merge them - Create> Poly.Mesh > Merge.
9. Translate the new polymsh object over to the side .
10. Select the cloned object and hide it by pressing "h".
11. With the Polymsh object selected, open its' Geometry Approximation operator from the explorer and choose "yes" to make a local copy. From the Polygon mesh tab, adjust the OGL Level slider to 2. This can also be done by pressing "+" twice.
12. Model the cube.

@hakkoy I've never seen that key before, and I tried ` as well as ~ and they didn't work. but at least now I know that it's called adding edges. I'll Check my key map for it.

I gues that you mean how add edges ? yes? its really easy . Only you must push the "º" key. If you havent this key look under the esc key:)

for 01:13 I'm going to assume that you simply used the "u" key highlighted the diamond and deleted the selectiion, please, do correct me if I'm wrong.
