Bloody Sunday is a 2002
film about the 1972 "Bloody Sunday" shootings in Derry, Northern Ireland. Although produced by Granada Television as a TV film, it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on 16 January, a few days before its screening on ITV on 20 January, and then in selected London cinemas from 25 January. The production was written and directed by Paul Greengrass. Though set in Derry city, the film was actually shot in Ballymun in North Dublin. However, some location scenes were shot in Derry City, in Guildhall Square and in Creggan on the actual route of the march of 1972.

  • @10lufc No the lesson learned is you'll never beat the Irish, countless Irish people have lost their lives since the illegal occupation of our nation. The 14 people who died this day are just 14 more reasons why we wont stop fighting until we get what is rightfully ours.

  • Good Movie. Me being from the United States I have not heard too much about this, but very interesting. I hope the Irish get what is theirs.

  • @Lazaphaza I guess some of this incident was shoot first ask Questions later and it does look like some of this was planned to get Ira and Irish rebels..Theres a time and place for battle, they didn't have to attack in this protest...

  • what was the plan? shoot first cover up later?

  • @EddieExile One thing with americans point of view is ,We had riot's and problem's in the 60's etc..But we never had barbed wire, armored cars ,tanks and an army in our towns and streets for month's and year's to have law and order..I guess there is also two sides to a coin Irish rebals make the Irish look bad too. How does it also look if you have an army have to make law and order it also gives u a bad name in the world....

  • @EddieExile Where making comments on something that happened in the 60's and 70's the world was really "nut's" back then, It's a differnent place today..You wouldn't get away with this today...America has it's problems the world live's there you can be what you want and be free...this stuff with catholic and protestant is very stupid killing over this idiotic...The biggest thing is U2 song you can never forget....And some of the victims never got proper juctice and peace from this..

"So Northen Ireland should have the same right...Let the people vote if they want to be in the UK, or free or merge with Ireland ...The ballot box..part2"

Northern Ireland does have that right and the majority wish to remain part of the UK - but the Irish nationalists refuse to accept this.

You are a typical ill-informed american with a simplistic green eyed view of the troubles.

  • FREE IRELAND! CHEERS BROTHERS FROM AMERICA! MY HEART AND PROTESTANT PRAYERS GOES OUT TO YOU! BRITIANIA IS THE GREATEST EVIL THE WORLD HAS EVER SEEN! I PRAY FOR THE PROVOS

  • the british para's unit here are scum and should be stripped of honor ,the us 101st and 82nd airborne at bastone in the battle of buldge they faught with honor thats valor..The brits at Dunkirk and the battle of Britian they had honor and valor....The funny thing this looks like a military state...treating the Irish people this way is crap...when this was over what did the UK do to help the victims and the town of Derry.. And the way the para's tried to cover them selfs up...

  • Funny thing is if you look at the letter of the law in a free world this is bull..First off u shoot people without a trial or investigate you were the IRA go an arrest them ....this is a war crime they shot poeple in the back come on..This unit of para's and general are to blame they were a thug outfit and disgrace the true British army...this is not valor or honor these para's should have been shot for treason or murder!!!.......
