I am starting a help desk position in 2 weeks. I used to be a door to door salesman, so I kind of leaned to filter out all the shit customers give me. I just want my pay cheques.

I support a program used almost exclusively by old men. I'm talking 70 and older. My day is full of 12:00 flashers. I know I have a really good one when all the developers in the office stop what they're doing and turn around to listen in on my call. I think they have a pool going on when my head will explode.

Client: "Restart?"
Me: "No Sir, Start menu!"
Client: "Oh, now it's restarting..."

well I am the tech support as well, the only way how to manage this job is to eat a lot of chocolate or drink a lot of alcohol, I definately think people should have something like driving license for PCs before they can buy it or use it
