I am honoured to have delivered a new DADGAD model G1.2 to Tony McManus at the 2010 Montréal Guitar Show. Following the show, Tony stopped by my shop to record a few tunes. As usual, this is the artist, the guitar and a single mic in the bench room of my shop. There are no pickups being used. The sound is pure. Enjoy!

  • It seems like in the Video that the frets are skewed? Is this a problem with the video or is it in the design of the Guitar to optimize it for DADGAD tuning?

  • @scawa1952 yes...the frets are "fanned". the guitar is built on multiple scale lengths to best accommodate the altered tunings Tony uses.

  • wow.... the guitars that you make are absolutely amazing. i don't think i've ever heard such a pure and moving sound come from any instrument. keep up the great work. maybe one day i'll be able to afford one too!

  • @fowler512010 Thanx! i appreciate your kind words and would love to craft an instrument for you too!

  • It's a great sounding guitar! Of course, having Tony playing it doesn't hurt one little bit. He is the genius of Scottish guitar. But no reverb added!? That's amazing. You must have a most reverberous shop! And what microphone is it? Is that a Neumann or what? Great all around.

  • @Artzner Correction....i was initially told that there was no reverb added but have since been informed by Tom at Flico Media that he did, in the end, add a very small amount of reverb for better stereo imaging. sorry if there was any confusion.
